Everything you need to know about your health
Everyone has different things that motivate him or her and keep them encouraged to live healthy. I will have to say from experience, that going to the gym 5x a week is one of the highlights of my life! It actually helps in many different areas of life, other than the obvious fitness aspect.
One thing that my gym provides is a place to escape from the rest of the world and meditate. Some might challenge this theory posing the idea that, it is impossible to meditate and escape in a room full of other active bodies bouncing around engaging in physical activity. But, in all honesty, when I step onto that stair master or treadmill, everything else around me stops and it’s just me and my thoughts.
Another awesome perk about being at the gym, is having the opportunity to network and meet other people like you. In every gym, there are an array of people of all different shapes and sizes, professions and experience levels. Whether you are single and looking for a date, or just a musician, and minister like myself, looking for contacts and connections, you are more than likely going to run across someone that you can relate to, and possibly even benefit from.
One of the best things about going to the gym is the feeling one has when done for the day. After a terrible weekend of eating horribly and not working out, there is nothing like the feeling of walking out of the gym, having burned those calories and getting back on track.
When you are surrounded with other like-minded people who care about their fitness and health, it just makes you feel like you have accomplished something great by just showing up! Even on days that you don’t accomplish as much physically, it does something to your self-esteem to know that you made the effort to get there.
With all of that said, the main thing that I love about the gym is the awesome ability provided for to multi-task. With the Iphone giving me my mp3 player, calendar, email, and phone; I can actually climb 90 flights of stairs, check email, and set appointments all at the same time.
Next time you find yourself hunting for a new place to workout, don’t just look for nice equipment or a cheap price. But, instead look for an atmosphere that fits your lifestyle and personality. Look for a place that has good costumer service and motivational group classes, so that you can be motivated to come back time and time again!
